On June 12th, 1912, a group of contractors formed the Master Plumbers Association of Columbus, Ohio. Forty-two years later the organization updated it's name to the Columbus Association of Plumbing and Heating contractors. Then on October 2nd, 1957 the Mechanical Contractors Association of Central Ohio, (M C A C O) was chartered.
Over the years the facts have changed, but the goals of the organization stay the same.
"Promote cooperation with state and city inspection departments, promote better business practices, promote safe working conditions, and develop relations between designers and mechanical engineers."
